All Realtors are NOT the same. A professional Realtor knows the market and will share information on past sales including their own results if they are good. Also requesting their results will provide you with insight to whether they are a good FULL-TIME Realtor. If they cannot show that they have done a minimum 30 sales/transactions (2+ sales per month) in the past year you are probably dealing with a part-time Realtor or someone who is below the poverty line and cannot invest in a strong marketing plan for your home.
The 2nd key item of the interview process, is ensuring they have a hardcopy marketing plan they can leave with you that clearly articulates how they differentiate from other Realtors and marketing plans. Again if they cannot communicate that about themselves and their plan how do you expect them to do a good job of highlighting the strengths of your home among the thousands listed? Evaluate each candidate carefully, be wary of price evaluations too high or buying of your listing. Be sure to choose some that your trust and feel confident that they will do a good job on your behalf.
